Counselor Job Description
Walton's Grizzly Lodge Summer Camp is a co-ed overnight camp for children 7-14 years old. We are looking for individuals who want to spend the summer working with children in a structured outdoor setting.

Each counselor has a group of eight campers they are responsible for. In addition, counselors teach activities throughout the day in areas they have experience in and have been trained to lead. Counselors work six days a week. The first year counselor salary for the summer of 2008 is $310.00 a week, plus a $300.00 - $700.00 travel allowance and a $100.00 end of summer bonus. An additional $800.00 can be earned through credential bonuses.

Dates of employment are from June 11 through either August 16 or 23.

Those interested in applying for the Summer of 2009 are encouraged to call our winter office
(530-274-9577) or complete our online application beginning in January. Applicants must be at least 18 and have completed a minimum of one year of college before the start of summer.

International staff should contact Camp Counselors USA. They can be reached at

Philosophy
We believe in providing a safe, natural, happy, secure environment where kids can be kids. We believe hiring and training a mature, caring and fun loving staff is the key element in helping us achieve this goal each summer. We believe in providing a structured program for children that emphasizes a feeling of family, friendship and belonging and encourages active participation in a variety of experiences. We believe summer camp should be a positive learning and growing experience for everyone involved.
